Taylor Swift left her fans a special surprise at exactly midnight on August 29th. She announced the release of her new album, Midnights, which was released on October 21st of this year. Ever since that date, the album has achieved milestones for the talented, influential artist.

Midnights’ purpose is to showcase the songs that Swift has claimed, “... written in the middle of the night, a journey through terrors and sweet dreams”. The album was released with 13 songs, along with the music video “Anti-Hero” which currently has 70 million views on YouTube. On October 22nd, she released the 3 AM version of her album, comprising 20 songs. Since her release, she has received immense success with this new project of hers.

THE OUTCOME OF THE ALBUM - SUCCESS!

Dr. Swift is no stranger to the billboard and here it showcases just that! Her album currently stands at number one for five straight weeks on the Billboard 200 albums chart on December 10th, beating all the holiday albums playing endlessly all around. She’s the first artist in 64 years to chart every spot in the top 10 all at once on the Billboard Hot 100. Not only that, she is the female artist with the most #1s, landing at only 40 at the moment.

Following along, she has not one but three Spotify records that were broken! Those are the most streamed albums on Spotify in 24 hours (184.6 million streams), most day one-streams of an album on Spotify (184.6 million streams), and most streamed act on Spotify in 24 hours (228 million streams) all according to the Guinness World Records.

THE ERAS TOUR

With the Lover Fest World Tour being rescheduled and then canceled due to COVID-19, Swifties have been thrilled when the announcement of Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour with various dates added throughout the United States. The tour starts on March 18th, 2023 in Glendale, Arizona, ending all the way to August 5th, 2023 in Los Angeles, California. The shows have various special guests throughout these shows such as Paramore, Beabadoobee, Phoebe Bridgers, Girl In Red, MUNA, HAIM, GAYLE, Gracie Abrams, and OWENN.

However, while the presale was available, there was a situation that happened with Ticketmaster during the general sale. Ticketmaster canceled its general sale due to various complaints of glitches within the website. The reason these glitches occurred is due to, according to CBS Los Angeles in accordance to Ticketmaster stating, “unprecedented demand, with more than 3.5 million people are-registered to get an access code for purchasing tickets.”

In the end, Taylor Swift has proved her lyrical talents to create a musical impact by not only breaking records but providing her fans with an additional form of connection with one another. The lyrics contained various easter eggs that fans spot in an instant and communicate with each other on connecting the puzzle pieces. That’s the beauty of creating art during Midnights.
