Responsibilities include managing the brand, overseeing content design, preparing marketing strategies, overseeing brand image, conducting industry research, and overseeing the return on investment (ROIs) from marketing activities.

Instagram Managers
Description:
As an Instagram Manager, you are responsible for handling our Instagram account. This includes posting content created by our journalists and graphic designers, writing captions, and interacting with other accounts on Instagram by commenting on posts, liking posts, and responding to comments. You are expected to attend monthly Team Gen Z meetings and department meetings every other week, as well as checking Discord on a regular basis to stay up to date with your role.
Time:
1-2 hours per week

The Instagram Manager role is perfect for any Gen Zers out there who cannot get enough of Instagram and social media! You will also be well suited for the role if writing catchy captions and brainstorming cool hashtags are your thing.

Events Coordinator
Description:
As a member of the Events Team, you are responsible for helping plan Gen Z: We Are The Future’s many events! You will have the opportunity to plan for internal, organization wide events, as well as external events, one to the public. On top of that, you are also responsible for attending monthly Team Gen Z meetings and department meetings every other week, as well as checking Discord on a regular basis to stay up to date with your role.
Time:
2-3 hours per week

Graphic Designers
Description:
Graphic Designers are in charge of creating designs that will be used on Gen Z: We Are The Future’s website, events, and Instagram posts. You will use Canva as well as illustrations created by our illustrators to create posts. On top of that, you are also responsible for attending monthly Team Gen Z meetings and department meetings every other week, as well as checking Discord on a regular basis to stay up to date with your role.
Time:
3-4 hours per week

You should apply for the Graphic Designer position if you love graphic design and want to use that interest to inspire and educate others about global issues, current events, and Gen Z pop culture.

Illustrators
Description:
As an Illustrator, you are responsible for creating illustrations for our graphic designers to use when they design posts and other graphics. Illustrators are paired with Graphic Designers to create illustrations for our Instagram posts. Illustrators can also create illustrations for our website when needed. Illustrators are responsible for creating several illustrations per week that will be featured in our Instagram posts. Illustrations can be created on whatever digital art platforms you most enjoy using. On top of that, you are also responsible for attending monthly Team Gen Z meetings and department meetings every other week, as well as checking Discord on a regular basis to stay up to date with your role!

Do you love digital art and drawing? If so, being an illustrator is the perfect role for you! Illustrators get to use their passions for drawing and creating art to educate others through our social media posts!

Journalists
Description:
As a Journalist, you will play a vital role in Gen Z: We Are The Future’s mission of educating, inspiring, and uniting Gen Zers through your writing. Journalists have the opportunity to write articles on various topics such as current events and equality all the way to the environment and pop culture. Journalists are responsible for writing one article per week on a topic of their choice. Articles will be proofread by our team of Editors and then published onto our website and even potentially created into a graphic for our social media. On top of that, you are also responsible for attending monthly Team Gen Z meetings and department meetings every other week, as well as checking Discord on a regular basis to stay up to date with your role.
Time:
4-8 hours per week
Who should apply:
You should apply to be a Journalist if you’re passionate about writing and want to use your passions to inspire and educate others. As a Journalist, you not only get to build your writing skills, but you will also have the opportunity to have your work published by some of Gen Z: We Are The Future’s partners, such as the Progressive Magazine and NITL.

Editors
Description:
As an Editor, you are in charge of editing articles and research papers written by our Journalists and Researchers. This is a wonderful opportunity to stay informed on global issues through reading and editing various pieces of different topics. You will be paired with a few Journalists and/or Researchers and are responsible for editing their articles. This means you will edit two pieces of writing per week that will then be published on our website. On top of that, you are also responsible for attending monthly Team Gen Z meetings and department meetings every other week, as well as checking Discord on a regular basis to stay up to date with your role.

1-2 hours per week

If you’re interested in reading and love correcting people’s grammar and spelling, this job is perfect for you! As an Editor, you will be exposed to an abundance of different writing styles and current events that will allow you to both improve your writing skills as well as stay up to date on current events.

Poets
Description:
As a Poet, you are responsible for writing poetry about different social issues and current events that will be posted on our website! You will have the opportunity to improve your writing skills and express yourself through poems all while helping raise awareness about global and societal issues. As a Poet, you are responsible for writing one poem about a current event or social issue per week. Your poem will then be edited and posted on our website. On top of that, you are also responsible for attending monthly Team Gen Z meetings and department meetings every other week, as well as checking Discord on a regular basis to stay up to date with your role.

2-3 hours per week
Who should apply:
You should apply to be a Poet if you love writing and poems and want to use writing as a catalyst for inspiring new ideas and change. Being a Poet allows you to raise awareness about issues in a creative and artistic way.

Researchers
Description:
As a Researcher, you will be responsible for staying up to date with different current events and conducting research for our Journalists, Poets, TikTok Team, and Animation Team to use. As a Research Team member, each week, you will be responsible for staying up to date with current events and global affairs and conducting research on them. Each week, you will briefly research one current event as well as research another issue or topic in more detail. All of your research will be added to a research database where it can be accessed by our team members. You will also sometimes be asked to do specific research for our teams. On top of that, you are also responsible for attending monthly Team Gen Z meetings and department meetings every other week, as well as checking Discord on a regular basis to stay up to date with your role.
Time:
4-6 hours per week

You should apply to be a Researcher if you love following the news and staying up to date with current events. This is a wonderful opportunity for anyone who enjoys research and staying up to date on things going on around the world.

Web Developers
Description:
As a Web Developer, you are responsible for keeping our website up to date. You are in charge of uploading articles, adding new features, and checking the website for any bugs or errors. As a Web Developer, you will be responsible for uploading articles on a frequent basis. You should also check the website as much as possible to ensure there are no bugs or errors, and if you find any errors, it will be up to you and the rest of your team to debug them. On top of that, you are also responsible for attending monthly Team Gen Z meetings and department meetings every other week, as well as checking Discord on a regular basis to stay up to date with your role.

Who should apply:
The Web Developer role is perfect for anyone who loves coding and website management. Although having prior experience with coding and/or Squarespace will definitely be helpful, it is not required to join the team.

Discord Moderators
Description:
As a Discord Moderator, you will be in charge of moderating our community discord server. You will have the opportunity to talk with hundreds of Gen Zers from around the world about different current events and so much more! As a discord moderator, you are expected to be active on discord and moderate your given channel. Depending on the channel you are moderating, you should also stay up to date on current events surrounding that topic so you are able to moderate and facilitate conversations. On top of that, you are also responsible for attending monthly Team Gen Z meetings and department meetings every other week, as well as checking Discord on a regular basis to stay up to date with your role!
